About Us

We are. BYU High School Suite (HSS) offers a comprehensive collection of middle and high school online curricula. Schools can license these curricula to deliver online or blended learning, including credit recovery, through select learning management systems (LMS). Our suite is versatile, and you can choose your level of support. For schools new to online or blended education, we provide training and consulting. For schools with established online programs, we can keep it simple and provide curriculum licensing only.

Our Journey. HSS began in 2012, empowering local teachers to instruct and grade our online courses directly at their schools, rather than relying on BYU Independent Study’s resources.

Adapting to Change. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need for schools to develop their own online programs using their own teachers. This shift has increased the demand both for comprehensive curriculum and for online teaching tools, resources, grading systems, training, and other essential assets to support in-district online programs.

21st Century Skills. Our new curriculum is designed to impart essential knowledge while developing critical skills and attributes (KSAs) vital for students’ success. These KSAs include critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication. They are seamlessly integrated into our courses, ensuring students are well-prepared for both academic and real-world challenges. Schools can issue digital micro-credential badges to students, showcasing their achievements and recognizing their skills and accomplishments.

Our Growth. Since 2015, our digital licensing program has expanded significantly. We have grown from partnering with 100 schools and 12,915 enrollments in 2017 to over 450 schools and 320,000 enrollments in 2024.
